Walt Disney, film animator - Expansive movements in the upper zone indicate independent and creative thinking, along with fantasy and imagination. The over embellishments have rendered the signature almost illegible, signs of vanity or arrogance.

Donald J Trump, President USA - Block print writing indicates the need for space, detachment and independence, yet at the same wanting to be clear and understood. It reveals the writer is obsessed with the here and now, primarily self involved and therefore may lack social graces.

Thomas Edison, inventor - his long t-bars almost leave the page! These reveal the trait of enthusiasm, which in this case is both durable and passionate.

Jimmy Savile, TV personality - an ostentatious, over-embellished signature revealing a need to attract attention. Note too the disparity between signature and text meaning the writer is putting on a facade, usually as a self-protective defence.

His signature is angular and sharp, indicating firmness, straight to the point and unwilling to compromise, views things as either black or white. Analytical thinking predominates.

Charles Dickens, author - Interest here is in the heavily underscored signature, just one underscore is a sign of self-reliance, someone who prefers to depend on themselves - here we have many!

Here are some interesting examples of handwriting and signatures, and a brief snapshot of the traits or signs that are very pronounced and easily identifiable. It must be stressed that one sign alone does not make an analysis, the value and consistency of all other traits and signs must be considered.

Adolf Hitler, Nazi Party leader - An acute downward slope suggests that there is considerable depression and perhaps erratic behaviour. Notice on the sample page below just how his signature deteriorates until it is no more than a blob. This indicates total collapse of self, steady mental decline and an exhaustion of mental energy.

The points and arches/humps of the letters 'm' and 'n' have to be measured and evaluated - this sample shows how size and slope can differ.

Graphologists study the three zones of handwriting - upper, middle and lower zones. This sample shows very little extension into the upper zone, a here and now or live for the moment indicator.

This letter 't' shows just some of the measurements and considerations that a graphologist will make on all letters ... yes, patience required!
